Wild Cove Farm is honored to host
First Sundays For Women Veterans
The first Sunday of every month
May-October 2023
1-4 pm
You’re welcome to attend as many of these gatherings as you’d like.
Help us kick off the season on May 7th!
First Sundays are free for women veterans, please RSVP so we can plan horse activities and buy enough snacks!
The mission of First Sundays is to provide a safe space for women veterans to gather and talk honestly about our struggles and dreams in a supportive community of peers who understand the challenges of life after military service.
This is a time to be seen, heard, and respected.
(and enjoy some laughter too!)
Every gathering will include activities with the horses and a community circle for conversation and support.
You’re also welcome to just hang out and enjoy some quiet time at Wild Cove Farm.
Why Horses?
Horses are prey animals, reading people and situations is one of their survival skills.
Their behavior reflects what they see in us and this provides helpful insight into how we show up in the world.
And horses make us feel good because they lower our cortisol levels and regulate our heart rates!
Activities are co-facilitated by Army Veteran and VFW Post 683 Commander, Kristin Ashley
and Equine-Assisted Life Coach, Erin Fristad.
No prior horse experience is necessary. There’s no riding involved. We support participating in a way that you feel safe.
